Supaw Pet Bakery began in 2015 with a simple act of love — a homemade cake baked for Cookie, a Yorkshire Terrier who couldn’t enjoy store-bought treats due to a liver condition. Determined to create something healthy and delicious, our founder Meg Cai turned her kitchen into a pet-friendly bakery. Word spread quickly, and soon, requests poured in from fellow pet lovers wanting something special for their furry family members.

What started as a small passion project grew steadily, especially during the 2020 lockdown, when more pet parents sought healthier ways to spoil their dogs and cats. Every treat we make is crafted with premium, grain-free ingredients like chia seeds, flax, and turmeric — because pets deserve the same love and care we give our own meals.

Today, Supaw Pet Bakery is proud to be at the heart of Melbourne’s pet-loving community. In 2024, we were honoured to receive the Lord Mayor's Small Business Award — a recognition of our commitment to quality, creativity, and our furry customers.

From custom portrait cakes to freeze-dried healthy treats, everything we create is designed to make your pet’s special moments truly unforgettable. Because at Supaw, every day is worth celebrating.

Frequent question

What’s in your cakes, and can my pet eat them?

Our cakes are crafted from 100% human-grade, pet-friendly ingredients—because nothing is too good for your fur baby! Every element, from the base to the decorations, is edible. We know some pups tend to gobble things up quickly, so we’ve made sure everything is safe to eat unless otherwise noted on the product page. Check out or ingredient pages for more details.

Why are your cakes so small? My dog devoured it in seconds!

We hear you! Our dog cakes are more compact than your typical human cake. Our signature 4-inch portrait cake, for instance, weighs about the same as two Big Macs—and trust us, there’s a lot more meat in our cakes! Big dogs (and some small ones!) can finish it quickly, so be sure to supervise and have plenty of fresh water nearby. As with all delicious things, moderation is key!

My pet has a sensitive stomach or special dietary requirements—can they eat your cake?

If your pet is sensitive to sudden dietary changes, it’s best to introduce the cake gradually, mixing it with their regular food. If you’re concerned about specific ingredients, check with your vet before ordering. We’re happy to accommodate some food intolerances, but if your pet (or a family member) has a severe allergy, like a life-threatening reaction to sesame, we recommend you avoid ordering from us, as we can’t guarantee zero cross-contamination.
